A Beekeepers Daughter

A few weeks ago my dad started beekeeping. When he was just talking about this I was not excited. Something about having thousands of bees living in my backyard didn't sound too appealing. Then I got to thinking... I can photograph them! Thats when I started getting excited. I always love a new subject to document, and seeing as I know nothing at all about beekeeping I thought it would also be a way for me to learn about it through my photography.

I hope you enjoy the photographs I captured while my dad was working with the bees. Have a great day!

My New Love Obsession with Handmade Paper!

For Christmas my brother Jim and his girlfriend Amy gave me a pack of handmade paper from Maple Street Paper Co. and I've got to say, when I first opened it I was scared. It was all just too pretty to use!!

Back in college I had a few opportunities to make my own paper. And let me tell you, it is not easy. I totally enjoyed it though, it was such a messy process that all of my friends even said that it was right up my ally before I even tried. The paper I made didn't even look close to as beautiful as the paper I received for Christmas.

Pressed flowers, leaves, glitter and more are embedded into this paper to make it such a sight to be seen. I almost just want to frame it.

Once I found out that this shop was actually on etsy and I could easily order more my fear of using it went down and my excitement went WAYYYYYY up!

I told you in my past post how I finally finished up my journal... right? Well I finally had the task to make myself a new journal and boy was it a task.

I knew I wanted it to be something that could fit in even some of my smaller purses so that I could bring it with me wherever I go. I also wanted it pretty, you know so when I start talking to a stranger about how I am a book artist I have something nice to show them.

It is a 4x5 inch book with 100 pages and I am absolutely in love.

I highly recommend you check out this shop and their wonderful paper! You definitely won't be regretting it..... or you could also just wait a few days and I will have a book in my shop created with a beautiful paper from my pack!

Talk to you all soon!

It's The Most Wonderful Time of the Year!!

BASEBALL IS BACK!!!!!!!!! Every single year I am excited about this, to me it is just one step closer to the nice weather. I became a baseball fan back in 2007 when I was in the hospital room. My view was Yankee Stadium and sadly watching the Yankees was the best thing on TV. My dad taught me about baseball and the history of it and I was hooked. I knew if I was going to be a fan of any team it would be the Red Sox. I hated the Yankees before I even enjoyed baseball and the college I was about to attend was right next to Fenway Park.

At one of my first games someone in a ugly green shirt asked me and my parents if we would like a FanFoto and I started asking him what his job was, how he got it and so on. That day was when I decided that I too would work at Fenway.

A few years past and I applied and I got the job! Even though it definitely didn't pay enough it was the best job I ever had. I worked there for two seasons and one off season. My friends became my family and I will always think back to the summer of 2011 as the best summer ever.

I figured I should share a few photos from America's most beloved ballpark!

Favorites Friday: Inspired by Bronx

When my beautiful girl died I knew that I needed something more than my folder filled with photos and videos. I needed something to remember her and like everything else in my life I turned to etsy. After a while I found an artist called "inspiredbybronx" her shop is inspired by her little pup who died at eighteen months from cancer. It meant so much to me to buy from Vonny's shop because she dedicated her entire shop to her dog.

In her shop I found the perfect necklace that resembled my little Chelsea.

When it lays around my neck you see the paw through the heart on the top disc and then when it opens you see the phrase "everyone loves the chelsea"

Anytime Chelsea was scared or upset we would pet her and let her know that everything was alright by saying "everyone loves the Chelsea" and it always made her smile.

To remember my beautiful dog who grew up with me, I'll keep this around my neck and think of her always.

Goodbye Girl

Sadly at the beginning of the year my family and I had to say goodbye to this beautiful girl. Chelsea was 15 years old and my parents like to joke around she was the most photographed dog ever. It was definitely something that I knew was coming before it happened but that doesn't make it any easier. It's amazing how quiet the house feels without her considering she never barked and she obviously didn't talk like the rest of us. Every morning I still expect to see her waiting for me on her bed in the living room. And every night I miss saying goodnight to her.

Rest in peace my beautiful girl. I will always love you and you will never be forgotten. Thank you for an amazing 15 years Chelsea. 11/8/98-1/3/14
